Pipe jacking

Whether new construction or rehabilitation – the basic condition for qualified construction of sewage systems is careful planning.
Pipe systems made of vitrified clay provide absolutely safe, calculable design parameters. In order to make a reliable planning, the underground conditions (like geology, soil, ground water), the ambient conditions (like traffic, morphology, precipitation, protection as a nature reserve), as well as the quality and the amount of the waste water have to be taken into account. Chosing between open construction with sleeve pipes or pipe jacking heavily depends upon the above mentioned conditions.

Range of application:

  • Development areas
  • Rehabilitation
  • Utility services
  • Crossing or streets/motorways
  • Crossing of railways
  • Crossings of stretches of water
  • Crossing of water catchment areas

Life above ground can pursue its normal course while vitrified clay jacking pipes for sewage disposal are being installed below ground. Except for a launch and reception pit, and few intermediate shafts (depending upon the driving length), there will be no significant implications on-surface and along the installation site; Hence, traffic arteries are free of congestion, towns are free of huge building sites and businesses don't lose turnover. Noise and mess are largely prevented, CO2 emissions and fine dust are greatly reduced, roads are not dug up, flora and fauna are protected, etc.

In short:
Economic losses and environmental damage are kept to a minimum as to compare with the more conventional on-surface methods of construction.

Technical specifications

Jacking pipes are subject to heavy strain and have to meet the highest requirements. No problem for jacking pipes made of vitrified clay!
